Be Your Customer’s Go-To for Golf Events

May 16, 2017

So you have a customer who wants to throw a charity golf tournament and is looking to you for outfitting options and, perhaps, a little guidance.

No problem! Armed with the new 2017 Go-To Golf Guide, you can help set her up for success.

This brochure makes it easy to shop for golf apparel, bags and caps because it has good, better and best collections designed to fit any event and budget. It also suggests golf giveaways and prize pack ideas.

Going beyond logoed polos and visors, you can share the following sample event planning timeline, too. Organization and attention to detail are the keys to a successful golf event. And there are certainly many online resources and books dedicated to in-depth golf tournament planning, but this will give her a brief idea of how to structure her time:

1 Year prior to the event: Select an event date, golf course and theme. Meet and coordinate with the course event director.
9 months: Determine the budget and game format. Recruit volunteers and set up committees.
6 months: Seek sponsors and determine contests and prizes.
3 months: Finalize arrangements and send out invitations. Order logoed apparel and accessories for goodie bags and prizes.
2 months: Check up on outside vendors and finalize menus. Arrange beverage or snack carts. Determine attendance based on invitation responses.
2 weeks: Set up teams of four and select team captains.
2 days: Double-check and finalize all details. Anticipate possible staffing and/or timing issues to ensure the event runs smoothly.
Day of the event: Arrive early, adjust for no-shows and cancellations. Enjoy the day!
Week after the event: Follow up with sponsors, players and guests with thank you notes and any post-event gifts.

Golf events are fun for everyone involved, but they take work and coordination. Position yourself as your customer’s first-call and enjoy hole-in-one sales!
