Flock & Foil with Stahls’ TV

July 12, 2016

Project Press It is a weekly video series created by Stahls’ TV to provide weekly inspiration for the apparel decorator looking to step-out of the box and get ahead of the competition. This fun and exciting series includes how to decorate garments with a heat press and heat transfer vinyl for unique designs that give decorators new ideas, including this innovative, 3D, metallic design with flock and foil.

Here’s your weekly dose of apparel inspiration:

This project has another dimension of visual interest because of the raised, 3D foil that is layered on top of flock. Inspired by the look of metal, this silver and red modern sports shirt has an incredible look that is easy to make.

Take a look below to see how it easy it was!

Using the Graphtec CE6000, we cut red CAD-CUT® FLOCK and CAD-CUT® Adhesive.

Once weeded, we pressed the Men’s Tri-Blend with FLOCK for the base of the design using the standard 16″ x 20″ platen on the Hotronix® FUSION® at 320°F for 15 seconds at a medium pressure and peeled cold.

The Adhesive was lined up and pressed at 300° for 3-5 seconds at a light pressure, and peeled hot.

The silver foil was then placed on top and applied on top of the adhesive at 300°F for 10 seconds at a firm pressure. The finished front design was a 3D eye-catching look.

Next, to add interest, the back was pressed with a team name in foil and adhesive as well.
