The Impact of Women in the Workforce

December 12, 2017

Nearly half of all American workers are women. That number has grown from just over 32 percent in 1948 to 47 percent today. Women own close to 10 million businesses in America. They lead, inspire and deliver in business each and every day.

Like their male counterparts, women want to look good and feel good while in the office. On average, women spend between $150 and $400 each month on clothes. Top budget analysts recommend that women spend five percent of their take-home pay on new clothes. However, even after spending money to build a work wardrobe, three in five women complain on a daily basis that they can’t find anything suitable to wear.

Logoed apparel that women want to wear is a great option for the workday. Combining a cute tee with an embroidered sweater or layering a woven shirt with a company’s logo over a tank top are simple ways to create an easy-to-wear look for work and play.

When outfitting teams, don’t take a one-size-fits-all or “pink-and-shrink” approach. Consider options for women in coordinating colors and sizes that are designed to fit and flatter. We’re pleased to offer a huge variety of want-to-wear styles for women, including new looks for the office, running around town and outdoor adventures. Our Business Uniforming Idea and Sales Guide also features a variety of stylish looks for her work wardrobe.

Don’t forget – while you can sell one polo or woven shirt to the guys on the team for an outing or a conference, you can offer the ladies several different layers for their personal preference, comfort and style.
