The Posi-UVTM Pro line of shirts and polos from Sport-Tek® make up just a small handful of the 256 new styles we introduced in the new 2020 Apparel, Bags and Caps catalog, but it’s such an exciting addition to our lineup that we wanted to dive deeper into the technology behind our new UPF shirts. (UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor – watch our video about UV Protection to learn more about what this means.)
First things first: the Posi-UVTM Pro line offers UPF 50 sun protection. That’s the same sort of protection you’d get from a strong sunscreen!
According to Teak Hernandez — one of the merchandisers behind these new products — a really exciting feature of the Posi-UVTM line is that the UPF protection is inherent in the material and the knit of the fabric. That means unlike treatments that can wash off, the UV protection in the Posi-UVTM shirts will last for the lifetime of the product. That UPF 50 rating is across the line, too! Regardless of cut, fit or color, the UPF rating is the same (even on the white shirts).
When you’re out in the sun, you’re going to sweat. It’s just the way things work. That’s why we’ve built moisture wicking technology into the entire line. We didn’t forget about decorators when we designed these shirts, either. All of the Posi-UVTM shirts are made with PosiCharge® technology, which helps keep colors from running and logos looking sharp.
Teak sees a lot of potential in the Posi-UVTM Pro line. These shirts work just as well for coaches and athletes as they do for regular folks shopping at their local farmers market. From the beach to the boat to the field and the fans in the stands, the Posi-UVTM Pro line is flexible, just like the other Sport-Tek® products you already know.
