Promotional Apparel Markets: Hospitality

February 25, 2020

“Do what you do so well that they want to see it again and bring their friends.”
— Walt Disney —

It may seem like magic in the moment, but the example Disney sets at its theme parks and cruise ships and resorts is one of an intricately crafted hospitality experience. This experience is shaped by so many details, including the setting and the service and yes—even the apparel.

When you’re working with customers in the hospitality industry, you’re helping them create an experience for their customers that will be remembered. To make that experience positively unforgettable, there’s a couple things to consider.

Convey a Consistent Brand
A consistent hospitality apparel brand includes everything from coordinated staff uniforms to imprinted towels and robes for guests. Remember that both the front and the back of the house will need imprinted apparel.

Bartenders, waitstaff, hosts and front desk staff represent the face of the business, and all need to look sharp and consistent. Cooks, dishwashers, housekeeping and other back of the house staff are not as visible, but also need branded uniforms and aprons, often incorporating the unique needs of more physically demanding work.

Think Across the Generational Gap
A safe bet for the hospitality industry is matching or coordinated knits and woven shirts in color combinations that complement the existing hospitality brand colors. The Port Authority® Easy Care Shirt family is an excellent place to start for a base layer that is available in a wide variety colors and is made to handle just about any working environment.

Younger generations are also influencing the hospitality industry. Including fashion-forward and casual options, such as District® or OGIO®, will appeal to those customers working to update their brand to meet this growing trend.

Building loyalty and trust is key to running a successful hospitality business. In the age of social media happy guests become brand ambassadors, sharing pictures and videos of their experience that will make their friends envious and remind them of the happy memories they shared. A consistent apparel brand presence and consideration for the needs of different generations are how you too can make the magic happen.
